Thank you for visiting Vellum Hollow. I’m so glad you’re here.

Creativity. It means someone found inspiration, had an idea, and somehow brought it to life. Something is there that wasn’t there before. Vellum Hollow is the place to discover that someone is you.

When I conceived of Vellum Hollow, I wanted a place that reminded folks – myself included – that as children we all used to be creators, but sometimes we may have forgotten the joy of what it feels like to try something new, explore, play, and just have fun, without worrying about how or why or if we’re any good at it.

If it brings you joy, then it’s a masterpiece!

Vellum Hollow is not about giving lessons. You won’t learn painting techniques, or piano chords, or how to write and sell the next great novel. At the Hollow, I hope you will discover what I have been learning myself – that the way to begin creating is to create. Pick up that paintbrush, or point your camera, or take out your laptop, say “I want to try this” – and then DIVE IN.

I invite you to take a look at the Welcome Video, and see if you might want to spend a little time in Vellum Hollow. The gate is always open, and you are welcome to join us inside.

Creating came so easy because that’s what we were all about: the sheer wonder and delight of sticking our hands in fingerpaints, or making up stories to act out with our friends, or just sitting alone and daydreaming. And nobody told us we couldn’t – not even ourselves.

I never stopped waiting for you. I knew one day you would come looking for that joy again. And together we are going to find it. We are going to unfold it. And we are going to share it.
